About Barrierefrei²
Accessibility isn’t an extra – it’s quality. Barrierefrei² helps you understand it and put it into practice.
Why “squared”?
Accessibility works twice over: it opens digital products to people with disabilities – and makes them better for everyone at the same time. Plain language, good contrast and solid keyboard support also help in bright sunlight, with a broken arm or on a train with a patchy connection.
What you’ll find here
- The WCAG guide explains every WCAG 2.2 success criterion in plain words – with practical tips and the W3C’s original wording.
- The blog goes deeper: basics, law, design and development, content and testing.
- All content is available in English and German.
Who’s behind it
Barrierefrei² is a project by Dennis Wagner, a UX designer focused on UX strategy and accessibility. The website is built the way it recommends: semantic HTML, visible focus, sufficient contrast, dark mode and a menu that lets you adjust font size, contrast and motion.
